Mission Statement
The Department of Psychology seeks to facilitate the understanding of the fundamentals of human behavior and experience, to teach the fundamentals of scientific method, to develop a recognition of the diversity of behavior, and to develop the ability to make informed judgments that strengthen our contribution to society.
Educational Outcomes
- Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental concepts, theories, and principles of psychology.
- Graduates will demonstrate a familiarity with the basic academic research techniques of searching, summarizing and critically analyzing specific content areas of interest and be able to communicate effectively in a format appropriate to the field.
- Graduates will be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in a format appropriate to the field.
- Graduates will be able to apply their psychological knowledge and skills to create opportunities for occupational or educational growth.
