BIOL 320 - Limnology Limnology is the scientific study of inland waters. Topics include an introduction to the physical and chemical properties of water (particularly as they relate to aquatic ecosystems), energy flow and chemical cycles in aquatic systems, and the diversity and ecology of aquatic organisms. Laboratory exercises emphasize the use of standard limnological methods, identification and classification of aquatic organisms, and use of the scientific method to explore questions about aquatic environments. Six hours of lecture and two three-hour laboratories per week.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 201 Credits: 4 hours
