Mission Statement
The Department of Psychology has a mission to facilitate the understanding of the fundamentals of human behavior, scientific methods and recognition of the diversity of behavior. The department will provide skill-building opportunities to make informed judgments and prepare students for graduate school and future career in the mental health field.
Educational Outcomes
- Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental concepts, theories, and principles of psychology.
- Graduates will demonstrate a familiarity with the basic academic research techniques of searching, summarizing and critically analyzing specific content areas of interest and be able to communicate effectively in a format appropriate to the field.
- Graduates will be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in a format appropriate to the field.
- Graduates will be able to apply their psychological knowledge and skills to create opportunities for occupational or educational growth.
