GC 343 - Digital Content Management and Variable Data Printing


This course provides an introduction to digital content management and an in-depth look at variable data printing and its present, as well as future, implications for the print industry. Students will learn how to work with the data necessary for variable data printing to work successfully. Students will also learn how to design specifically for handling variable elements. Students will be exposed to elementary variable data through InDesign’s built in Data Merge feature, FusionPro and database management fundamentals using FileMaker Pro. Students will execute projects using variable data technology from design conception to print and finishing of the job.
