GC 114 - Color Reproduction II


This course will incorporate the use of color science in a production environment. The students will be introduced to industry standard test images, color measurement tools, and color management software to create ICC  compatible  color  profiles  using  the  LAB  device  independent  color space. These profiles will then be used to manage color throughout the  color reproduction process to achieve consistent and predictable color reproduction results. Students will learn how to calibrate and profile the monitor, scanner, and various color output devices. Emphasis will be placed on the students demonstrating competence in the use of reflective and transmission spectrophotometers to create ICC profiles and implement these profiles in various RGB workflow scenarios.
