CHEM 276 - Organic Chemistry II Includes a systematic study of the various aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons and their derivatives with emphasis on modern theories of structure and reactivity. Students are introduced to the use of polarimetry, infrared spectroscopy and proton nuclear magnetic residence. The laboratory includes the synthesis, purification, and identification of organic compounds. Three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory per week.
Prerequisite(s): CHEM 275 Credits: 4 hours (Spring)
