REL 352 - Theory and Method in the Study of Religion


This course will expose students to the manner in which scholars, from various fields of study, have understood the meaning and function of religion. This course will also introduce students to the development of religious studies as an academic discipline within the liberal arts university. Thus, this course will examine religion from a generic perspective preparing students to then move forward to investigate specific religious traditions.
