MUSI 111 - First Year This course in applied music is open to any student in the university. Work in applied music is regarded not merely as technical training in performance, but also as a study of the standard literature. The student receives one half-hour lesson per week and must complete at least five (5) practice hours per week.
Applied concentrations must follow the natural progression of coursework. Two semesters of freshman-level (100-level) courses must be completed before advancing to sophomore-level (200-level) courses. Two semesters of sophomore-level (200-level) courses must be successfully passed to allow registration in junior-level (300-level) courses, and two semesters of junior-level (300-level) courses must be completed for eligibility to take senior-level (400-level) courses.
