MUSI 429 - Recital The senior recital is intended to be a capstone experience for students who pursue a music degree at Chowan University. Each student should enroll in this course during the semester in which the senior recital is to be presented, concurrent with applied lesson enrollment. The student is required to prepare an analytical paper covering some or the entire recital repertoire as determined by the applied instructor. The paper must address the historical background and context of the composer(s) and the work(s) and a musical analysis of the work(s). The paper must be accepted and approved by the applied instructor before the student is allowed to present his or her recital hearing before the faculty of the Department of Music. The faculty must approve the recital in order for it to be presented to the public. Credit will be assigned on a pass-fail basis.
