GC 113 - Color Reproduction I

This course will cover the color reproduction process from the human eye to the printing press. Areas of study will include the print variables, process control, densitometry, color properties of ink and paper, the color reproduction requirements, and the color reproduction considerations. Conventional test images will be used to determine the specifications for tone reproduction, gray balance color correction, UCR and GCR. Students will learn to evaluate, adjust, and diagnose color reproduction results based upon gray scale reproduction. Emphasis will be placed on the students demonstrating competence in adjusting color images and understanding visual color differences based upon tone reproduction, gray balance, and color correction.
