CJ 330 - Race, Ethnicity, and the U.S. Justice System


This course examines racial disparity in the U.S. criminal justice system and the impacts of ethnicity, gender, age, and economic status. Various components of the justice system will be covered, including an introduction to social science evidence depicting criminal behavior, law enforcement agency conduct, and impacts of public perception on race and ethnicity.  In addition, racial profiling, felony convictions, and immigration will be explored.

Prerequisite(s): Junior or Senior standing
Credits: 3 hours
