GC 255 - Digital File Preparation and Workflow


This course will introduce students to advanced prepress topics, with a focus on design and digital file preparation and analysis for multiple output and distribution channels, as well as digital imposition using Preps imposition software. Students will gain an understanding of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat’s basic prepress functions as well as additional information on the PDF file format and its use in prepress workflows, including web to press technology. Students will also gain an overall understanding of the general workflows found in typical commercial print operations and the importance of production planning and the incorporation of all job information at the prepress stage.

Prerequisite(s): GC 135
