Spiritual Life
In keeping with its Christian heritage, Chowan University promotes spiritual growth stimulated by faith development. Spiritual growth is as important to one’s education as is emotional, physical, and intellectual development. All members of the university community are encouraged to nurture the spiritual dimension of their lives. Students are also encouraged to participate in the life and worship of local churches.
Campus Ministry
Campus Worship calls the Chowan community together for authentic Christian fellowship that balances biblical relevance and reverence.
Ministry Chaplains are upper-class students who serve in residence halls and in Whites Crossing to help bring the presence of Christ to the daily lives of their fellow students.
Wednesday Night Worship & Sunday Night Services, held in the Chowan Chapel, provide a group atmosphere where students can come to worship and be equipped to become disciples of Jesus Christ and live out the Great Commission.
Team 4:13 allows student chaplains to serve as peer-to-peer ministers on athletic teams.
Mission Experiences allow students to share God’s love through local, national, and global service projects.
The Campus Ministry Team can also help students choose from dozens of churches in the area. There are a variety of Christian denominations represented in eastern North Carolina.
