GC 241 - Digital Print and Publishing


A study of technology and science behind digital printing, including   close examination of the industry leading machines including the specific technology unique to each of the industry’s leading machines. Students will understand the impact of digital printing on the print industry as a whole, including the resulting creation of new media distribution channels, as well as its smaller impacts on consumers, advertisers, designers, etc. The specifics for designing for digital print versus traditional offset will also be addressed. (No lab is required for this course - though some class periods may be spent printing on the department’s digital equipment.)
